SECOND AVENUE FROM HOWARD TO ARTHUR STREETS WILL BE SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE SATURDAY, SEPT. 10
Work is nearing completion on Second Avenue from Howard to Arthur streets. Second Ave. from Division to Howard streets will be closed to motorists Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8 – 9, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day while crews pave the street. Additionally, Division and Browne streets will be reduced to one lane near their intersection with Second Ave. on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8 -9. The street will reopen to traffic on Saturday, Sept. 10, by 6 a.m. although motorists can expect obstructions for the next week while crews stripe and finish final detail work. The project included replacing an 8-inch sewer main from Sheridan to Hatch streets and a water main from Howard to Stevens streets. Traffic signals were upgraded, too.
The $2.1 million project was funded by the 10-Year Street Bond, and City of Spokane Water and Wastewater Departments.
